Hello Jane was founded from a genuine passion for helping older people feel supported, confident and in control of everyday life.

I wanted to make practical, professional and personalised assistance available to people who may need a little extra help but do not always feel comfortable asking their families. Sons, daughters, grandchildren and extended family members often want to help, but distance, work, family responsibilities or a lack of specialist knowledge can make it difficult to provide consistent support.

Hello Jane helps bridge that gap.

The idea was inspired by several older friends I had been supporting, particularly my dear friend Jane. Jane has no children, and her extended family does not live nearby. She is exceptionally generous and is always willing to help others, yet she rarely asks for help herself—even when she needs it.

Jane’s independence, kindness and quiet determination inspired me to create a service for people like her: people who want to remain independent and engaged while knowing that trusted, patient support is available whenever they need it.

My journey began with passion, but it was built on a clear purpose—to empower older Australians to manage everyday tasks, use technology with greater confidence, stay organised and remain connected to the people and services that matter to them.

I am also deeply grateful to Filipa and Dirk, my first paying clients, who encouraged me to turn this passion into a meaningful service for others. Filipa affectionately calls me her “guardian angel”. Her words remind me that practical assistance, delivered with patience and respect, can make a profound difference in someone’s life.

My vision is to build a trusted team of caring and capable people who share the same values—professionalism, patience, respect, reliability and genuine human connection.

Hello Jane is more than a support service. It is about helping people feel heard, capable and reassured, while preserving their independence, dignity and choice.
